Welcome to Veterinary Surgery Specialists (VSS)

VSS is a surgery service designed to provide you with a highly skilled and Board-Certified Veterinary Surgeon, without the hassle of having to drive too far or placing your pet through unnecessary stress. We come to your local veterinarian’s clinic, or see you at a near-by practice, and use a team approach to give your furry loved one(s) the optimal care they deserve!

We perform all soft tissue surgeries and all orthopedic surgeries. This includes ACL/CrCL repair (TPLO or extra-capsular repair), fracture repair, and removal of all cancer types.

We will travel to veterinary practices between Germantown to Racine, and from Elkhorn/Mukwonago towards Lake Michigan. If you live in Milwaukee county or the surrounding counties, we are here for you!
Ask us if we come to your vet’s office.

If you live outside of these areas we can arrange to meet you at one of our hub clinics that is closest to you! Current hub locations include:

Brook-Falls Veterinary Hospital in Brookfield. WI
Family Pet Clinic in Menomonee Falls, WI
West Allis Veterinary Clinic in West Allis, WI
Magnolia Springs Veterinary Center in Racine, WI
Mukwonago Animal Hospital in Mukwonago, WI

Information

Good to know

  • Free advice on surgical conditions, diagnostics needed, and interpretation of those diagnostics.
  • Ability to have a say in the decision-making process of what is right for you and your pet.
  • Continued involvement in your pet’s care throughout the surgery and recovery process, which is often lost in referrals to specialty hospitals.
  • Growth in their technical staff’s abilities to understand surgical conditions and administer anesthesia.
  • Reduced headaches of traveling for specialty care.
  • Less stress on your pet during travel, meeting new people, and at times un-necessary overnight care.
  • A focused, objective, and science/literature-based approach to surgery.
  • Overall reduced cost, compared to a bigger hospital.

Though general estimates can be provided, there are multiple variables that impact which surgical options are possible for your pet and which options you may prefer.

As such individualized estimates are determined on a case by case basis, including but not limited to:

    • A review of medical conditions
    • Further examination, if needed
    • A thorough discussion of those options based on our findings
